The Actux association is part of the Free Software movement, promoting access to knowledge and culture, following a sharing model based on liberty to use, modify and distribute free resources. Hence, the association's main goals are defending and promoting Free Software as well as Free Culture.
Actux was born in September 2006 as an informal project led by students from Rennes willing to liven up the Campus with install parties. Today Actux is targetting the general public and extended the scope of its activities beyond Free Software.

Floss Manuals Francophone

Floss Manuals, French chapter, contributes to spreading free culture by easing publishing free documentation (under a free licence) about free software, free and open hardware, and free culture. It will present its philosophy, its method, its tools and its books (around fifteen titles : arduino, reprap, fablab, scribus, gimp, inkscape, puredata, processing, free fonts, create an epub, cinelerra, sésamath, blender for 3D printing, blender for video games).

The FDN Federatoin regroups associative Internet Service Providers sharing common values: volunteering, solidarity, democratic governance and non-profit; defense and promotion of Net neutrality.
With Digital being ownipresent in our lives, it is even more essential to guarantee Net neutrality, that is, equal processing for all data flows on the Internet.
This stand will be the opportunity to discover some of its members : FDN (ISP since 1992), Grifon (local action on the Rennes area) and FAImaison (local action on the Nantes area), as well as the brand new « Brique Internet » / « Internet Brick », developed by LDN and Neutrinet.

Nos Oignons

Nos oignons (our onions) is a non-profit association created to collect donations so as to run Tor exit nodes. Tor is a system meant to anonymize connexions and bypass censorship on the Internet. Tor is at the same time a piece of software, a network relays aggregation of more than 4,000 servers, and a project involving forty-ish people. Nos oignons' action is focused on the « relaying » part : their goal is to try and improve the Tor network quality by running « big » relays. These relays are located in datacenters meant to host servers within the Internet network, and hence benefit from a large bandwidth.

Mozilla

The Mozilla French community is the rendez-vous point for all french contributors to the Mozilla mission. It's composed of software translators, code contributors, user helpers, etc.
Mozilla is a worldwide community of techno-enthusiasts, thinkers and craftsmen working together to keep Internet intact and accessible to all, so that everybody can use it fully and make it grow. Working together on an open platform is fundamental for them, both at the self-fullfilment and common goods levels.
